Marine Biology

Growing up in California, I've always had access to the beach.  I knew how to sail before I could drive, and the ocean feels like a second home.  This is part of the reason why I teach Marine Biology as an elective.

Students will participate in activities where they will learn about the smallest sand crabs that wriggle beneath their toes on the sandy shore, to the bizarre goblin shark which skulks in the darkest, deepest depths of the ocean.

We will also discuss ocean conservation, climate change, how we can protect our local beaches, and more!

Check out this page for ocean related content, beach clean up opportunities, and ways you and your students can participate in conservation efforts.
