Dear 8th Grade Social Studies Students,

Wow - what a unique year this has been for us all. Thanks to each and every one of you for your engagement, participation, and all your hard work. You all did a wonderful job! As you move onto high school, remember to ask for support if you need it, check in with yourself and assess your needs, engage with friends, and don't be afraid to take risks and try new things.

One of the lessons I want to leave you with, something we discussed early in the school year, is to never stop questioning things. Always ask why things are the way they are and learn how you can influence change.

I am proud of each and every one of you and all of your accomplishments. You SURVIVED & THRIVED through a pandemic, this is something you will always remember. Know that you are strong and resilient - you can handle anything. I believe in you.

You will be missed fondly,

Ms. Plasencia
